Information, Innovation and Technology Transfer Office
We not only inform our academics and our students but also provide them with project development support and administrative support in order to increase the participation in grant support programs. In this respect we provide services such as:
• making announcements regarding support programs,
• carrying out the advertising activities of national and international support programs,
• providing information about the content and the functioning of the program and directing the projects towards the right programs,
• communication and coordination (creating the project team, matching them with the industrialists/other academics, interviews and follow-ups in the presence of the project supporter),
• scrutinizing and revising the written projects,
• providing the support needed during the process of project execution.

University-Industry Cooperation Office
As the information, innovation and technology transfer office, we aim to maintain the sustainable cooperation which is based on mutual trust between the academics and the industrialists by mailing the firms in the region familiar with innovation studies in Research- Development and contribute to economy by turning the scientific potential in the university into economic assets. In this respect, our office
• helps to determine the Research- Development needs and expectations of the academics and the firm within the project plan,
• creates industry-based professional development opportunities for the academics,
• makes the scientific researches of the academics known by the sectors where they are required, enables them to be implemented and commercialized,
• makes announcements regarding the university-industry support programs and organizes meetings to inform about the programs,
• conveys the industrialists’ needs concerning Research-Development and Innovation to the academics who are experts in their fields, and helps them cooperate; helps the maintainability and the sustainability of the Research-Development based projects to get project grants,
• does industry-university focus group studies and makes way for new business cooperations,
• helps to form new national and international business cooperations.
Our office also provides services of contract administration, legal support and administrative follow-up procedures during these studies.
Intellectual Property Rights Office
As the information, innovation and technology transfer team, we evaluate the patentability and commerciality of the inventions which occur during the scientific studies of the researchers, academics and students in our university. We provide our academics with consultancy service during the process of intellectual property rights, especially on the issue of obtaining patents. We take part in the process of saving their intellectual property rights, try to raise awareness and provide services of licensing and commercializing. As the information, innovation and technology transfer office, we are also an ‘Information Documents Unit’ of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. In this respect our office
• raises awareness on intellectual property rights among industrialists and students, organizes training courses and seminars,
• informs people about converting the researches in our university to intellectual property and encourages them,
• protects the intellectual property rights and helps to convert them into intellectual capital,
• assesses the invention declaration forms,
• registers the inventions and manages the process of licensing and commercializing.
Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Office
Information Technologies and Application Office
The mission of the information technologies and application office is to
• teach the computer literacy course (BTU100) online by using the method of distant education, to give make-up and final examinations,
• create, conduct, assess and improve the education program by the help of Distance Education Research and Application Center,
• do needs analysis and organize the content of the course BTU100 in accordance with the needs of computer, informatics, computer based communication and by taking the basic and standard modules of European Computer Driving Licence, which are kept up-to-date in compliance with the requirements of the developing technology and life standards
• make the necessary announcements to students regarding the orientation program of the BTU100 course at the beginning of each academic year,
• organize workshops and training courses on ‘the development of assessment tools for the BTU100 course’,
• prepare the make-up and final examinations which are reliable and appropriate in content each term,
• evaluate the data on examination results,
• organize in-service training programs for the lecturers depending on their professional development needs in the beginning of each fall and spring term every academic year,
• make the necessary changes after getting feedback on the education program from the lecturers during the meetings done every semester,
• organize ‘the Conference of Education Technology Days’ every year,
• make preparations and planning for compulsory activities to be done during the summer.
Corporate Communication Office
Başkent University Corporate Communication Office (BÜ-KİK) has the mission of creating projects to maintain good relations with the national and international business partners. Our office aims to:
• maintain the coordination among public relations, media, design and protocol in order to improve the communication between the university and its national/international business partners
• increase the functionality and productivity
• do the necessary planning, application, auditing and recording in order to solve problems.
Regarding the corporate communication activities of Başkent University, our Corporate Communication Office (BÜ-KİK) carries out the following activities in cooperation with the Dean of Faculty of Communication and the related departments by benefiting from the design and studio opportunities of the Department of Radio, Television and Film:
• provides the coordination and cooperation that the Vice-President asks for the activities,
• increases the efficiency of the University Corporate Communication activities,
• checks the currency and the efficiency of the University Corporate Communication activities,
• plans projects with the units which carry out activities in the field of Corporate Communication within the university in cooperation and coordination,
• maintains the coordination and the cooperation among the heads of the units,
• makes evaluations and takes precautions in order to find solutions to the problems that may arise among the units which carry out activities in the field of corporate communication within the university.
